Named after the original owner Claire Bergqvist, Dona Clara is a truly unique room filled with extremely rich history. Located in the old family house the room is furnished with much of Claire’s English and Portuguese antique furniture.

The private cork terrace has unparallel views over the river Douro making it the perfect place to have a glass of wine and watch the world go by.

Named after Claire’s beloved granddaughter Juliet, it is one of the few rooms located in the old family house and is in perfect keeping with its surroundings. English and Portuguese antique furniture give a sense of the room’s rich history while the modern furnishing ensure comfort. The large ensuite bathroom has a beautiful freestanding bath as well as separate shower.

Outside, the balcony is dramatically suspended over the Douro and has wonderful views up and down the river.

Located in the old family house Dona Sophia is named after Claire’s granddaughter who currently runs the business. Like many of the other rooms in the original Quinta, Sophia is decorated with a combination of English and Portuguese antiques as well as modern pieces to create a charming atmosphere to accompany the sense of history. The ensuite bathroom has beautiful hand painted pale blue tiles with a bath and overhead shower.

This charming twin bedroom is situated under the old family house away from the other rooms in order to guarantee maximum privacy. Antique furniture is complimented by modern furniture ensuring both character and comfort.

The twin bed is set in the large bedroom which has an adjoining sitting room complete with modern sofa for relaxing. The Quarto em Baixo’s truly unique feature is found in the ‘James Bond Bathroom’ where the hillside’s impressive rock face is left exposed.

Outside, there is a slate table and chairs from which you can soak up the sumptuous views of the Douro.

The room benefits from private parking.
